"Erik R. Johnson and Jerome M. Grand presented What is Performance: Recording Emergencies in Performance Art/Studies on Friday December 12, 2003 in space Art Building. Three audio recordings and an essay, which focused on the recorded qualities of performance, constituted the event. On the first audio recording Erik read a chapter from Richard Bauman Verbal Art as Performance to Jerome. On the second recording, Jerome read a chapter from RoseLee Goldberg Performance Art: From Futurism to the Present to Erik. On the third recording a sequence of three dialogues between the two performers was presented, during which the two essays read were discussed. The final element presented in the event "Recording Emergencies in Performance Art/Studies" is a written extension of the dialogues. "
