CIRCORAMA
DE LA NOSTALGIA OPÉRISTICA
(Circorama
of Operistic Nostalgia)
"Intimate moments at the Guggenheim" is a project presented
by the Circorama de la Nostalgia Operística, consisting in one-to-one
tours of public-restricted sections of the Guggenheim museum (including
the guard's lounge, the museum's roof, the kitchen, etc.).

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Circorama de la Nostalgia Operística is an arts organization dedicated
to provide strange and fulfilling experiences. It has locations in Mexico
City, Zagreb, and New York. Previous experiences include ongoing choir
lessons in Central Park, reenactment of old photographs, peformances in
public fountains, and free development of perfumes that may recall specific
personal experiences.
Pablo Helguera will be the host of this particular Circorama project.
Pablo Helguera is a visual artist living and working in New York. His
projects in 2002 include a public art project for the Alexanderplatz in
Berlin, participation in the exhibiton "Museutopia", at the
Karl Enst Osthaus museum in Hagen, and the opening of "Instituto
de la Telenovela", a solo exhibition opening in Ljubljana, Slovenia
and which will travel throughout Eastern Europe. He has participated in
new media festivals such as Viper in Basel and mediaterra in Athens. He
has participated in sympsia from Bogotá to Rio de Janeiro. He has
exhibited at the Bronx Museum, Museo del Barrio, Whitebox, Intar, in New
York, and at museums and galleries in Chicago, Montana, Kansas, and Oregon.
He is featured in the exhibition "Politics of Difference", a
traveling exhibition through Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela and other venues
in Latin America. He has organized more than 500 public programs in contemporary
arts intitutions. Currently he is the Senior Manager for Education at
the Guggenheim Museum, where he develops and oversees the museum's education
public programs.
