I have a web site which recontextualises digital images that I collected
over the year 2001. As these images were collected over the year and dumped
onto my hard drive it became obvious that this mechanical device (the
hard drive) was now serving as an adjunct to my memory. The images are
displayed randomly in a 4x4 grid and present an alternate memory through
digital photography. A history of a year in my life through this medium.
Fragments recombine in random ways to create new associations between
disparate events and memories. Images often recombine in surprising ways
raising questions about our own abilities to remember and the role the
digitisation of photgraphy plays.
